Tenant Buildings

The Crown Heights Tenant Union works with neighborhood residents in Brooklyn Community Boards 8 and 9 to build strong tenant associations in buildings in Crown Heights. Many of the buildings we work with are owned by the same landlords and the tenant associations vote to form “Locals” of the CHTU: coalitions of tenant associations within the CHTU that are calling on their specific landlord to sign a contract agreement with the tenant association outlining responsible landlord-tenant practices. If a landlord sells a building that is part of a Local, their tenant association can opt to remain in the Local or start a new one. We also welcome individual residents who may not have a strong tenant association in their building. As such, not every building represented in the CHTU is listed below.
